MONTREAL, June 1, 2021 – Mazaam Interactive, building on the success of its edutainment mobile app Mazaam, announces the creation of the Mazaam Academy and a partnership with the distributor Brault & Bouthillier which will make the products of the Academy available across Canada. The Mazaam Academy offers a unique interactive solution for preschool, kindergarten and 1st grade teachers as well as early childhood educators, with or without musical knowledge.

The Mazaam Academy + solution includes:

  • Software for computers and interactive whiteboard (IWB)
  • Fun and educational activity sheets
  • The Mazaam mobile app
  • A repertoire of high-quality classical music sound recordings
    performed by renowned musicians
  • And many other activities

Based on work conducted by the Canada Research Chair in Music and Learning, the solution put forward by the Mazaam Academy uses classical music as an educational tool. It proposes individual and collective musical activities that support specific skills related to the child’s musical, physical, motor, emotional, social, language and cognitive development.

Our institutions have gradually abandoned music education over the past 25 years. If we do nothing, classical music could disappear within a generation as Kent Nagano wrote in his last book. A belief that we share and which has prompted us to develop a turnkey, accessible digital solution that makes it easier to share the benefits of music with young children. A gift they will have for life!” says François Mario Labbé, President and Founder of Mazaam Interactive and Analekta, the largest classical music record company in Canada.

It was love at first sight with the Mazaam Academy! This educational musical awakening program is dynamic and captivating for children. In addition, it is suitable for teachers. Well done to the entire Mazaam Academy team!” says Sophie Turcot, Category Director at Brault & Bouthillier.

The Mazaam app was launched in 2019 and was named the best app for the musical awakening of young children (“Best Musical Basics”) by the American magazine PARENTS in 2020. The app has also been certified by the renowned Educational App Store in the U.K. and is also the recipient of a Parent and Teacher Choice Award.
